Broken door opener

This microwave came brand new with the new home I purchased . Microwave works and heats well. But the door push /latch broke . My search has shown me that to replace this I need to replace the whole touchpad as the unlock button and connector as well as the touch pad are all one piece. This is a simple repair . My issue is this microwave is selling for $209 new but the part as far as I can find new is $165 . Please send me a link where I can get it cheaper and Ill repair it. Otherwise Ill just buy a new microwave and it most likely wont be a lg . Make life good again Thanks

Already Needs to Be Replaced

I will not buy a LG microwave again. I would rate it a zero if possible. It stopped working after 16 months. Since it was over a year old LG would only pay for the broken magnetron but not for the control board. As I had purchased the microwave with a stainless steel trim kit I feel like I threw $450 away. Very sad.

Purchased this microwave after my 2 year old LG stopped heating food. Needed to match my just purchased trim kit for my now worthless microwave with this model. It does work but it has a vibration now when the unit is running. Somewhat annoying. Very frustrating that the 10 year warranty for our 2021 model is worthless cause you can only get warranty part from authorized service which labor costs more than new microwave. Cant win.

Power button breaks easily

We have owned this LG microwave for less than 2 years. I am so disappointed that the door open button was so poorly made with two cheap plastic hinges which have broken. Now the power button is falling off the door and we can no longer use the microwave. My past sharp microwave lasted me well over ten years. I am extremely disppointed with LG quality and will not want to buy this brand again. The replacement part requires me to replace the whole control panel assembly which cost $130

I was mislead.

This was a great microwave until it starting glitching. When I called about the 10 year warranty after 7 years of ownership I was mislead. That warranty only covers one part. Then I tried to use the app to diagnose the problem. After several attempt I gave up and had to call the 800 number. LG gave me a list of repair shops and said good luck. Machines brake but the band let me down as a costumer.

I bought this microwave a year ago. It was doing well until now it doesnt work. It will heat something for a solid minute but then after that doesnt heat anything. I ran the smart diagnostics and it said there was a technical problem. Then after speaking with technical support they said it needed repairs which of course isnt covered under warranty even though this microwave is only a year old.

High Output Easy to Use Interface Even Cooking

What I like most about my new microwave is its high output power ease of use and the way it cooks food evenly. This product replaced a 15yr old Panasonic microwave. Originally I purchased the LG LMC2075ST because it fit in the cabinet I had built for the Panasonic. However after using it I was pleased to find that the LGs GUI and software were far superior to the Panasonics and that the LG unit was more powerful. Food cooked not only faster but more evenly. I was particularly impressed with the defrost feature as it truly defrosted the food without cooking it something that I had to be careful not to do with the Panasonic.

We have been so satisfied with this microwave. The previous model lasted us a good while so when we upgraded we were pleasantly surprised with all new technology. Warming up foods is such an easy friendly user process. From a leftover plate to the perfect baked potato pop corn and bacon there is no thought or work involved. We eat good. Hard to use at the beginning because of the non intuitive design. The mechanical kid lock is inconvenient to use for us having a trim kit around the microwave. We had to squeeze finger into the gap and bend joint in the gap. The electronic lock is also hard to use as you hold same button to lock and unlock and have to tell the difference by the sound. We like the discontinued counter model better as the design was cleaner.

After an exhaustive search I settled on this nice sized attractive model and have had a pleasant experience. It is easy to use and works well. I purchased it from Home Depot at a good price. I am however disappointed it only worked for 3 months and I couldnt return it to Home Depot for warranty but have had to go through a slightly cumbersome process to achieve a warranty replacement which has taken over a week and still have not received the replacement. Not exactly pleased but hopeful. Maybe the next one will last for many years.

Warranty on door of 10 years is not what you get.

One year 7 days I owned this product and keypad would illuminate but buttons didnt respond. Notice 10year warranty on the door illustrated. Well when you call and ask for warranty support they say its only 1 year warranty. I look in manual and megnatron brand shows 10year warranty on parts. I send pictures of manual and microwave and the customer service says first few times calling that we dont have a the megnatron brand. Even though picture of front microwave shows it be with a 10year warranty sign on the door as well. So I am out a microwave that couldnt last much over a year.

We purchased this model in 2017 and the next day this older one stopped heating we traveled 60 miles to get another like it. It is a very reliable unit. I am almost certain I can repair the old one just wanted a new one NOW We are considering having 2 of this model in our kitchen.

Didnt last Dont fall for the 10 year warranty

Buy the extended warranty through the retailer I havent owned too many countertop microwaves because they usually last many years. This is the exception. I purchased this one after reading lots of reviews as I always do and two more reasons I like the looks / feature and it boasted a 10 year warranty on the magnetron. I have purchased a few cheap units for my office and usually buy a more expensive model for home. This was a more expensive model. It lasted 15 months before it stopped heating. The timer the control panel lights everything worked just fine Just wouldnt heat anything. Unplugged reset etc. and still nothing would heat. Called CS for some guidance on the 10 year warranty. After lots of back and forth they finally said we can send you the magnetron. OK great Can I install it mysel? Oh no mam You have to have a certified technician to do that and the closest one to you is... 250 miles from your address and you have to pay for the service because there was only one year on the labor. Thats not going to work. Now I have a Piece of JUNK When it worked it worked great. But it lasted the least time of any microwave I have ever purchased - even the very cheap ones Lesson learned Buy the Extended Warranty from the store And that was my last LG microwave

Quit working in less than a year.

I bought the countertop microwave in June of 2023 and it started overheating and then quit working April of 2024. It didnt even last a year. The process of getting a replacement one since it was under warranty was unbelievably difficult. When I did receive the new one in May 2024 the box had several gashes in it and a dent on the corner and it had been retaped. So either it was not a new one and it was refurbished or someone opened it for some other reason. Regardless the box was not in good shape and had been already opened and retaped.

Push Button on the door Broke on 2 diff. Units

within the 1st year the push button on the door broke. So LG customer service asked me to buy another unit and reimbursed me with a check. This time the issue with the push button getting broke happened after 1 year so LG wouldnt replace it.

This is the best Microwave I ever had and I have had many over my 68 years of life. Cooks everything evenly no hot spots or cold spots in my dinner lunch and breakfast. Is great for popping popcorn also. I believe more Curnels pop have less un-popped Curnels in the bag.

My new microwave looks great in my kitchen. We also purchased the surround kit for a built-in look. After using a tiny microwave for years this one feels like a full size oven. It heats quickly and has enough room to heat several things at once. Love it

Good microwave but have 2 hidden drawback

I bought this unit 5 year ago. In general it did it work well. Large chamber makes it easy to re-heat large dish. 2 drawback need to pay attention. The start button is big but the support piece is tiny so it broken just over a year. Fixed it following YouTube. Another thing is the 10 year warranty is for part only and for magnetron only. You have to use a certified center to replace it DIY is not allowed. That half the price of the microwave. You can guess how I know. Like the other LG appliances I have it is relatively cheaper than other brand can last long if you can do DIY. If you

Do Not Buy This Microwave - It Will Break

I bought this microwave about two years ago and recently the door button broke. This seems to be a common issue among many owners as indicated by the reviews. Its frustrating to see LG continue to sell a product with such a design flaw essentially rendering the unit disposable after only a few years. This reflects poorly on their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction across their entire product range. The problem lies in the door button which is secured by two fragile plastic tabs that have now broken. To fix the issue I would need to purchase a $149 part even if I attempt the repair myself. When I reached out to LG customer service their solution was to offer a service visit for $349 for a microwave that originally cost $200. If it werent for the trim kit I already have for this unit I would have opted for a different brand. Sadly it seems like Ill be stuck replacing my microwave every couple of years due to LGs inability to design a reliable door button.

Buyer Beware

My dad bought the microwave in April 2023. By December the unit was blowing the breaker at the fuse box. An electrical engineer friend tested it and said it was intermittently pulling too many amps and to stop using it. It was the only thing plugged in on its circuit. Called the warranty claim office jumped through all the hoops to file the claim not easy and never heard from them again. Not worth the hassle to deal with them again so just chucked the piece of junk and the company put them on my black list and went with something else. Ill update this post if I ever hear back from them and they make things right.

My brother bought it a month and a half ago. So far it is very good and the only strange thing about the microwave is that it does not beep at the end. It performs a little tune it was just something that I need to get used to.
